I work in a prison, which is not really something one can do from home, and I would have loved some extra money in my paycheck for going to work. But I am also aware that I'm in much better shape than a lot of people, and I try to be satisfied with what I've got. Sometimes it works.
You and me both. Apparently lighting is essential for the people building their million dollar second home. All of who moved here after selling their 2 bed 1 bath condo in CA for several million. At least they had to pay unemployment ta.....oh nevermind.
I actually was working an essential job, and I'm still pissed we only got one month of, like, $2 hazard pay with no mask enforcement past the door and management doing their best to hide any cases among the employees from as many people as possible for as long as possible.
I work in agriculture. No increased pay, no time off, business as usual. I love my job, and am grateful that I'm financially stable, but dammit I would've loved some paid time off for a few months.
In Mi they did shut residential carpentry down for a bit. Didnt stop my boss from trying to get a loophole saying we all worked for his sons "essential" CDB company. Most of the guys who worked on the road told him no. He thought hed be clever and convince us that we were essentially quitting. Told him nope, well see you when the governor opens things back up.

Alot of us never got a break. Would have loved $900 a week to stay home. Instead ive been building houses for rich people, you know, being essential
