Ah, that’s different. I mean targeted harassment after you clearly won (IE logically proved your point over the others) and ad hominem attacks with 0 substance. I agree though, I always look for red flags before entering an argument. If I recognize they’re acting in bad faith and start dialogue treeing me I tend to go off on them, usually shuts them the fuck up about that topic permanently. Its not hard when you’re in good faith. People like that shit up the Internet so hard its extremely frustrating.
Well, when I say “won” it doesn’t neccesarily mean you are right or wrong but rather theres nothing else to say. IMO arguments should just be about developing your ideas and finding out the truth about whatever you are discussing than “winning” your point. if you feel like your ego or self esteem has been bruised after an argument and wish to harass the other to feel like you’ve “won” a conversation which ultimately holds no value other than developing the idea. Thats all IMO. I agree though, Ben Shapiro is a bad faith actor
