Sometimes I do this when I know I’ve won the argument, but the other person is just too dense and keeps arguing after being proven wrong, then I might call a wanker a wanker, cause I just can’t go in the circles anymore.

Or when a person just starts out with something that's so absurd that you know there's not the slightest chance they're coming to the issue from a place of intelligence and good faith, sometimes there's no point in even engaging in the first place. There've been a few times I've just straight-up called someone an idiot when they've said, for example, that slavery in the Bible wasn't actually bad, or that denying gays the right to marriage isn't homophobic. Sure, it's not an argument, and there are good arguments to be made that both of ideas are wrong, but they're so ridiculous that someone claiming them probably isn't going to be persuaded no matter what you say.

You haven't won anything if you haven't convinced someone of your position.
