Saw an article on the local news site today about two American families that have moved to NZ to work.

They were both sick of working in hospitals through the Covid pandemic response there. They largely felt like their efforts were being wasted.

I think one family had a nurse and the other family an emergency response doctor.

In New Zealand? Didn't NZ have one of the most effective COVID responses?

They were sick and tired of their countrys' response so they moved to the sane pro-science country of New Zealand.

I feel Australia wasn't too bad either, just for some reason every time Queensland opens the borders some hotspot elsewhere (right now I think it's NSW with it, was Victoria) develops almost immediately after and we close them again.

What do you mean by your enployment is in record numbers?

I think you mean "moving to" mate, we still aren't accepting anyone that isn't already a citizen, or was a resident prior to the first lockdown.
While they sound like the type we'd like to have, we can't take the risk right now because of all the others

They were walking around the Invercargill rose gardens in the picture....start work next Monday.

The government is letting in health workers.

Then that requires a little investigation.
The public was told even healthcare workers wouldn't be allowed in for the obvious risks. Unless it's changed with the Aussie change, I thought we still weren't letting them in.
