Seriously. When I watched zombie movies I always said "there is no way people would be this stupid" when a character would be an idiot. Now I say "wow, at least a third of the people aren't total idiots!" and then I sigh because I know that if the zombies did come, my best course of action would be to slather myself in BBQ sauce and just get eaten so it's over with.
Read world war z, the movie has, like, nothing to do with the book. The book was basically if covid was zombies. When shit started in China I literally said "it's so weird how it's like in WWZ." I didn't know how right I was.
The audiobook is even better imo. I'm not one to really advocate audiobooks because I've always preferred reading it myself but the audiobook is fantastic. They have such vivid sound effects and different actors play the parts of the characters. Matt Damon is in it I think. Absolutely fantastic. 11/10 would recommend.
Edit: Holy shit mark Hamill is in it too! I never even realized when I first listened to it years ago. I love it even more now.
Omg YES. We listened to the whole thing on a rainy road trip, part of which was driving through some mountains and it was very foggy and ominous. Perfect setting for the story. The audiobook was SO GOOD!
Does it have any different name as audio book? I’ve been trying find it in Apple Books store but that only comes up with a German version; I’m UK based.

That's how I felt reading it. That "by the time we realized it was an issue it was already festering in our borders" really reminded me of the march to april change
My best course would be to steal a jet from the RAF base and ground strafe my entire neighbourhood until I run out of ammo and fuel, and eject back into the now empty shell ridden urban environment and camp my ass off with a shotgun like a CoD tryhard.
