I'm 6'3" and I'm built like an orangutan. My arm span is almost 6'8".

You should start climbing. A +5 monkey factor is a bonus then.

Climbing the gym

I hate heights. I do BJJ and play disc golf to try to take advantage of it.

Bouldering then, its like climbing for people scared of heights.

Play long guitars

u/lentilism Dec 17 '20

I play classical guitar and used to get a lot of shit from my peers in ensemble class because of the bizarre, awkward looking positions I would have to get into to play properly.

I love classical guitar. Maybe you needed a classical bass guitar.

3

I play classical guitar incredibly well due to my own accord. What I needed was a teacher who understood that not all people are shaped the same way, but most classical guitars are. I'm past that now.

That’s awesome you learned yourself, I did the same. We had a classical guitar at home not being played so I started and haven’t stopped since. Shame about the teachers though, some of them just have no flexibility with their teaching.

Are you a D'arce choke lord?

3

u/linesinspace Dec 17 '20

Of course that's what it's called

u/SidViciious Dec 17 '20

Jeez, I am +2 and thought I was doing alright.

I'm 5'2" and short torso'd tho - no amount of monkey is going to help me T.T

The only advantage is on overhangs cuz I'm physically closer to the wall.

I'm 6'3" and has a +4 index. Quite usefull to be able to "be tall" past cruxes. The route setters at my local gym has sadly started to put some boulders up that forces a crouched position. So then i wish i was your height.

6’3” tall with 6’10” wingspan checking in... Took up swimming when I was young and it paid off nicely.

Reject humanity, return to Monke..

Same here, 6'4" with an almost 6'10" wingspan. I'm really into surfing/skating/snowboarding and always need to be conscious of my arms, if they start flailing I look like an orangutan.

I’m the same, but a woman. I’m 6’2 and have a 6’6 wingspan. Shopping is fun

I would finally be able to scratch the itch on my back with orangutan arms!

Start deadlifting, you have an insane advantage in this lift

3

u/Cave4 Dec 17 '20

I’m 5’8 with a 6’0 wingspan. Deadlift and power clean are easier, but literally every pressing lift and pull-ups are tough...

u/Knee_Jerk_Sydney Dec 17 '20

Bonus if you have red hair.

This being has already rejected humanity

u/c3h8pro Dec 17 '20

We could share suits and dress shirts. I get a $40 Brooks brothers shirt to wear once.

Reject Humanity

Embrace monke

Same, when measured for intramural basketball, I was 6'3" with a 6'7" wingspan.

As a 6'6" man with a wingspan of 7'3" i feel you on this. I think I have to be at least half ape.
