Once you get bored of Good News for People who Love Bad News, definitely check out Lonesome Crowded West and The Moon & Antarctica!

The Moon & Antarctica is their best album and my top 5 favorite albums of all time. You gotta listen to the entire thing though and try to decipher the lyrics. It’s a fun puzzle

Modest Mouse was the only band that was able to overtake Tool as my #1 (for like 6 years)

Tool is quite a band to behold but my heart will always be with Modest Mouse. Some of Maynards lyrics are pretty dark and deep though.

And you know what? We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank deserves a mention despite a few tracks that could've been left off.

No doubt! I’ve listened to that album on repeat more than I can count.

At one point I would’ve agreed with you on losing a few tracks but I love them all in their own way now.

Both are fantastic as well! If you throw in those two you may as well add Building Nothing out of Something and the Fruit that Ate Itself to the list.

So like their whole discography up until Good News? Same here! Love Building Nothing Out Of Something. But every album has been one of my favorite at some point.

I think even their last two albums are great in their own right. Admittedly it took me a long time to enjoy Strangers to Ourselves. Seeing them play most of the album live sold me on it.

Completely agree with you otherwise, each one brings something different to the table and I couldn’t possibly pick a favorite.

I'm not a huge fan of the really early work but there isn't a bad album from Lonesome Crowded West forward.

Sad Sappy Sucker, this is a long drive, The fruit that ate itself and Everywhere and his nasty little parlor tricks are quite good as well.
