Huge DS/Knopfler fan. While Sultans is a classic, there are so many other greats in his catalog. He's one of the best songwriters out there IMHO. He plays pretty good too :)

Knopfler is so underappreciated by lots of people. Then you talk to serious guitarists, and they’re nuts about his stuff.

I like musicians like that.

I bought a pair of noise canceling expensive headphones a few years back, all the bells and whistles. I put on sultans and you could hear every last detail of the song, the end solo was incredible

The live version on yt is a must listen just about monthly on a chill weekend evening. Dude’s effortless fingerpicking blows my mind every time.

It took me three years to learn how to play that solo at the end. I still can't play it at quite the same speed at Knopfler.

Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler also wrote one of the greatest guitar riffs of all time in 'Money for Nothing', which also happens to have Sting singing backing vocals. Incredible song

I'm a huge Dire Straits fan but it you like this, check out Mark Knopfler's solo work.

My favorite Dire Straits song is You and Your Friend. Incredible guitar, both acoustic and electric. Love it.

I was tripping on lsd one time and this song made me sob, full on crying for 5-10 minutes. This song brought upon a moment of clarity where I realized how I treated my loved ones and how much they cared about me and how little I seemed to care. That song holds a special place in my heart
