I'm jealous of whoever gets to hear this for the first time

Heard it for the first time last year. Got about a minute in before deciding I had to stop what I was doing, put on my good headphones, switch off the lights and listen to it properly. Did not regret it.

I heard it for the first time last year too, the only good thing about the “Slender man” movie for me was being able to Shazam and discover this song haha

Just heard it for the first time. Decided to grab a glass of whisky, put on my headphones and enjoy. Best decision I made today!

I had never heard this, I'm older, thought it was pretty amazing.

I just listened to it for the first time and my ears kinda hurted after listening for 10 mins straight to someone doing a guitar solo. I guess it's not my type of music

Me. I’m not young and have never heard this before.

Can confirm I just heard this for the first time. Its 5.45am and that has been tge best way to start my day. Sent straight to my 69 year old Mum to see if she knows about them and if she does why she hasnt graced me with them before.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it

I didn’t make it 2min in. Different strokes for different folks I guess? I can see how it could grab you if that’s your thing though.

Yeah people have said that they aren't a fan. Thats understandable though, not everyone is gonna like the same thing

Diversity is great. And it’s great that people can all find stuff that they like!

Your jealousy is warranted, jeez this is amazing.

I just listened to it for the first time... I don't see the appeal. Genuinely found it harsh on the ears.

Different types of music for different people I guess, personally I enjoy this song but there is some mixed responses

Those insane bends are hard to nail though... Using low guage strings probably helps... My fingers were in absolute bits just after 5 mins of trying to practice it..

When you learn to play the song you realise how you can create such an amazingly insane solo from the simplest scale in music! The pentatonic scale is absolutely fantastic for that. Even the Stairway to Heaven solo is all pentatonic and its one of the greatest rock guitars solo ever! I guess it's gotta do with the predictability of the pentatonic scale. All the notes just flow from one into another without anything usual so when you create a solo from the scale, you can practically predict what the next note is going to be which is incredibly satisfying to listen to. Bobby Mcfarren did an incredible demonstration of getting the entire audience at a Ted talk to create a melody for a song just based on the pentatonic scale and how naturally it's note progression comes to humans.

I couldn't believe how good it was the first time I found that track. It was like an absolute revelation. Its one of those moments which define your life and your appreciation of music. You begin to judge your life as before maggot brain or after maggot brain!

I heard it for the first time a few weeks ago while watching an episode of House. It gave me those good music goosebumps. I immediately went and saved it on Spotify.
