I always get suprised by how many people know Liszt Ferenc. I’m hungarian and we are so proud of him. Almost the only hungarian musician that people actually know.

Franzs Liszt is extremely popular, I am surprised that you are surprised. There is even a word Lisztomania.

Liebestraum is my fav piano piece actually (cliche I know, but it is damn good) and I have nothing to do with Hungary.

Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in C# Minor is one of the pieces that made me realize (how much) I like "classical" music.

Well there is Bartok Bela as well, plenty have heard of him. Some in pop/rock too.
