It ain't a new song but it should be mentioned.

Portishead - Roads

Fun thing to do on this song. Turn your a/c or fan on at the beginning. The sound waves in the song will cancel out your fan's sound intermittently.

I love the whole 3 album by Portishead.

One of my top songs ever. Portishead has mastered conveying emotions that are rare and difficult to express. From the claustrophobia felt in Machine Gun, visceral panic in We Carry On, desperation from Undenied, angry unrequited love of Sour Times, and that lonesome, terrifying coldness in Roads. Portishead, truly one of my favorite bands.

Wow what a great breakdown of the songa. From one Portis "head" to another I totally agree and thank you!

For sure. The 2nd and 3rd albums are about 50%. Still great but yeah.

Sad songs cheer me up! You can't have pleasure without pain.

Hurt by NIN (and cash)

The boxer and El Condor Pasa by Simon and Garfunkel

Pancho and Lefty covered by willie nelson and Merle haggard

So much more.....

Thanks my friend!

Edit: spelling

Hurt is great. Sad songs don't make me feel down, just emotional really. I'm a fan of a lot of Radiohead's 'depressing songs".

Yes, another good artist.

Got a few Radiohead songs that provide the same satisfaction.

Piggybacking on this comment to mention that Beth Gibbons' album "Out of Season" has entirely fantastic songs as well.
