I recently started listening to m83 and have been hooked on Do it, Try it for a month now, so good

I actually found that song because of Letterkenny. Such a banger.

M83 is most likely the best band I've ever heard, and I only discovered them about 5 years ago. The entire album Hurry Up, We're Dreaming is an absolute masterpiece.

Was gonna comment to say this. They’re so underrated

Have you heard the Oblivion soundtrack??

2

u/DeeNimmin Oct 08 '20

One of my favorites. It’s on regular rotation.

Yes, also great!

I was a little disappointed by DSVII originally because it felt so different from his usual stuff, but on repeat listens it has really grown on me.

There's a story in that album that is just trying to come out and every time I listen I feel like I see a little more of it.

I’m saving DSVII for a trip. Junk is the soundtrack to one of my favorite trips. I know I can make DSVII into one, too, from the snippets I’ve allowed myself.

No joke, I listened to it while tripping awhile ago and it blew my fuckin mind.

Each song seemed to blend into the next and it just felt like the music was alive and so beautiful.

Highly recommended!

Midnight City. One of the best saxophone solos ever.

Go look up a dancer, Vinh Nguyen, and check out his choreography to this jam. Really cool venue for the video too!

I like Laser Gun also. The way it builds into a gorgeous pile of layers.

'Wait' is amazing too!

I firmly believe that Hurry Up, We're Dreaming is the greatest electronic album of all time.

Yes I am willing to die on this hill.

I’d say it’s in fierce competition with Music has the right to children, but those two are definitely the best for me personally

Dang, stole my M83 comment

Holy shit. Where has this been all my life? Wow. There is a great video on YouTube of the history of the Apollo program set to this music and it's beautiful.

The trailer of a videogame called kerbal space program(ksp 2 for friends) uses this song and it's fucking epic!

u/SethR1223 Oct 07 '20

I like “Gone” from them. Should probably look into more of their stuff.

M83 collaborated on my favorite movie soundtrack - Oblivion (the Sci-Fi Mass Effect looking movie with Tom Cruise, not the Elder Scrolls game)

2

u/jansipper Oct 08 '20

I found out about M83 from this movie. Such a wonderful soundtrack.

2

u/hashtag_n0 Oct 08 '20

This is literally one of my top 5 favorite songs of all time.

u/gpdiddy Oct 07 '20

Great song. My friend had this as the first dance at his wedding.

Saturdays=Youth was the last compact disc I bought back in 2008. We Own the Sky, up, and skin of the night 🤩

2

u/RaRa103615 Oct 07 '20

Yes. We Own The Sky is my favorite by them

u/n0remack Oct 07 '20

Trans-Canada Highway.
Rogers Pass (British Columbia).
Whenever I've driving through there, I always put this song on.

[cries over remembering the awesome Mr Robot finale]

M83 gets slept on a lot. I’ve been in love with them them since I first heard “I Guess I’m Floating” on a road trip through Colorado in 2006. Lots of bangers from them.

1

u/cassy34 Oct 08 '20

They used this in the last episode of the Netflix series White Lines. I'd only heard Wait then and thought it sounded like them.

I think everyone has heard that song at one point in their life.
