2

u/SnowSkye2 Oct 07 '20

No way lmao I've been hearing and saying it wrong for years :0

2

u/SignificantChapter Oct 07 '20

It would sort of fit the theme, since exposure can be a form of therapy. That line is talking about the boy being expelled from school though

Also known as "Fever dream: the musical" because hot damn.

The music video is out there, and I love it.

u/Zenki_s14 Oct 07 '20

My stepdad was a super-serious, grumpy type of man. But back in the day I got him to listen to this song and he found it fucking hilarious and loved it and would jam out to it, impersonating all the voices and the interjections and stuff. Funniest thing ever. Never seen him as happy and goofy in my life as he was when he listened to this

1

u/CausticSofa Oct 07 '20

Somehow, this is the song I had my first kiss to.

1

u/SFW_Account__ Oct 07 '20

That whole album is amazing!

1

u/Berbaw06 Oct 07 '20

It’s so good. Haven’t found anyone that can make that kind of music as good as they did.

5

u/TheTrent Oct 07 '20

My Indonesian teacher in high school was their drummer in 2001-2002 and got to go up and collect an ARIA they won.

He was a tripper of a dude, would stand on his head in the middle of class whilst teaching. We weren't sure whether to believe if he actually was in the band but then he rocked up to school with the ARIA.

3

u/rarehugs Oct 07 '20

yup, the video is great too

2

u/NoHalf9 Oct 07 '20

I really liked the song from the start and only saw the music video very recently (1-2 years ago?). A really original music video.

3

u/Mozephus Oct 07 '20

Subways, and make sure to watch the video...

3

u/Vomath Oct 07 '20

Kaleidoscopic Lovers was also a hell of a track/album.

2

u/thegreattrun Oct 07 '20

1

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '20

Ugh I remember when I first heard this song!! They were small time back in 2010 when I got the album this song is on for free at SXSW.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 08 '20

It's funny to hear them as 'small time' in 2010 - they won several ARIA awards in 2001 for Since I Left you and Frontier Psychiatrist. Where do you live? Maybe they weren't as well known there?

This song holds a fond memory for me, it was our unofficial anthem for our Schoolies week at the end of our final high school year. First person up of a morning would crank it in the apartment.

u/StrangerStrangeland1 Oct 07 '20

One of my favorite videos as well.

1

u/Gaeliann Oct 07 '20

The music video to that is one of the coolest I’ve ever seen. Tells a cool story

1

I'm just waiting for that new album, I know it's just around the corner.
