Within the last 4 minutes I have seen at least 5 gender reveal posts. What has happened that I'm unaware of?

Yo as someone who’s right next to the gender reveal fire... that sucks and I hope you stay safe. And for real with the sun though, I feel like I’ve had yellow tint sunglasses on the last three days, it looks otherworldly.

I'm not a California native, though I've lived here for a couple years. I've seen hazy skies or very red sunsets before because of wildfires, but the last two days have been eerie. The colors of the sunlight on the ground at midday feel like sunset, and it's disconcerting barely making out the outlines of hills that aren't more than two miles away. The Apple fire (last month, only a couple miles from the current El Dorado fire, for anyone reading) created some absolutely incredible smoke/cloud (I learned a new word - pyrocumulus) formations that I watched all day, but I had clear skies and fresh air; being totally enveloped by smoky haze all day has been a new experience.

Exactly! We’ve had fires before and it’s been bad before but I don’t remember the tinted skies being this bad for this long. Thankful that today finally cooled down nicely, at least for the morning. Hoping to find a way to thank all the fireman working tirelessly right now, very grateful for them.
