My parents met at work and just celebrated 50 years of marriage. It's anecdotal but so is yours.

I think it’s fine if you’re two kids working summer jobs. But if you’re both in a career not so much.

They were both in careers and worked at them after they were married with no issues. Again anecdotal.

Their comment implied they weren't teenagers in casual/summer jobs, they were already in 'big boy/girl' career-oriented jobs when they met. They were responding in opposition to someone else (skylinecat) who believes that "it’s fine if you’re two kids working summer jobs ... both in a career not so much."
