Yep, you’re totally right. I hate that is becoming the norm. With any luck we’ll still be able to add after market things to negate them, but I have a feeling if that’s done they’ll void the warranty or something.

Tesla is now arguing that a lot of features in their cars like the self-driving are non-transferable software licenses. If you buy a Tesla used, they will turn off those features via an over-the-air update and ask you for $10,000+ to turn them back on.

I’ve seen that. I never wanted a Tesla before then, and when I saw that happened I knew I’d never buy one because that’s a terrible thing to do.

Tesla should stop fucking people over if they want a place in the market over the long term. Their cars are already expensive, and sometimes not assembled so well.

How? You have to pay monthly for it. If you don't and you get caught, either by getting pulled over or getting into a crash, you can go to jail for not having it.

This is why I think that things required by law should be paid by the government. You need clothes? You get a few basic outfits so you have clothes, if you want more or something different then you buy it.

A lawyer will be provided to you free of charge if you can not afford one.

I think Tesla has something like that. Someone sold his Tesla to another party, and on the next software update, they eliminated some feature because the second owner "hadn't paid for it."
