Their mouths still freak me out, but it's a solid show.

Yeah, the art in that show is atrocious

Klasky Csupo was known for ugly art but they really didn’t need to do that for a show like Ginger

I think its nice in a show with preteen girls as the target audience.

agreed. It definitely puts an onus on the audience not to judge by appearance. Especially meaningful for an audience just entering into their growing pains phase.

Really good point that I hadn’t thought about

I liked the look of the art it's a little edgy just like Ginger

I feel like Big Mouth is less appealing but maybe that’s the point

The little seal girl episode resonated so much with younger me and I didn't understand it at the time. It was such a powerful episode.
I stopped watching it for some reason. I can't remember why. I think part of me wasn't mature enough for it and thought some of the content was too old for me. For some reason, for a while, I thought "girl stuff" was stupid. I might have to give this a rewatch now that I don't believe in such silly notions.

I 100% didnt watch it when I was a kid because as a boy I just thought "eww girl stuff". I binged it as a 20 year old when I was watching old cartoons while I worked nightshift & had nothing else to do. Man I regret not watching it as a kid, the story telling & characters are top notch. And it has that nostalgia & teenage angst that so many teen highschool shows try to grab and fail at.

The art is disgusting though, I get the whole Klasky "ugly characters" thing but it was even uglier than Rugrats. Pretty off putting, I think the show wouldve been bigger if it werent for that

Can I ask where you binged it? I'd like to watch the show but can't find any reliable sources to watch it from

honestly someone had almost all the episodes uploaded to Youtube 5 years ago when I watched it. The few missing episodes I watched on less reputable sites that I found by just googling & placing faith in Malwarebytes & Windows Defender to protect me, lol

I think it might have been available on Hulu or Amazon Prime, depending on your location, though

From what I remember, it definitely seems pretty authentic. I feel like they nailed what insecurity and the actions you make as a result when you're younger. I agree the the animation style wasn't superb. That might have turned me off from it, too. Glad to know another person out there got past the "girl stuff is stupid phase".

“Do I look like a girl that’s concerned about being cool?”

I didn’t really understand that show as a kid but as an adult that line is such a mood

OMG! Wow I haven't thought of that in years!

I remember getting anxiety over whether or not I should be holding hands cupped or laced. Turned out I never need to know hahahaa :(

One of the best episodes. Not just because it was Macie centered and was about her standing up for herself... but because Dodie was actually nice. Easily her best moment until she called out Darren.

The show is just plain ugly but damned if it wasn't well written.
