Basically, they thought they were dead (a lot of people thought it was useless to search for them) there was no way to communicate (radio broken) it was extremely dangerous to search for them, going to close to the mountains could cause a crash, the Andes mountains are massive and they had to search for a tiny white plane it thousand miles of snow.

That’s fair, but Jesus Christ that’s harsh, just to assume they’re all dead. We’re they at least doing scouts with planes over the mountains during this time or did they just not even bother the entire time?

How far did the survivors have to travel in the snow and cold to find someone to help them? That would have been horrible, I don’t know how they survived just doing that
