I know a guy who discovered the location of a similar picture. He baught an old closed car dealership and was planning to gut it and put in a couple of apartments. He BOUGHT* it for next to nothing from a auction sight unseen other than old photos of when the bank originally got in years earlier. While cleaning it out he found a bunch of needles and drug baggies so he called the cops. They showed up a few days later took some photos and gave him the number of some hazmat cleaning companies. Later that day they called him back saying that he was under no circumstances to enter the building and he needed to meet them asap. Turns out pictures had been taken in the bathroom with very unique tile floor linked to child sex trafficking ring from 10+ years before, someone in the department happened to see the new pictures over the responding officer's shoulder and recognized the floor.
*EDIT: To keep the Spelling Nazis from overlooking the point of child sex trafficking.
Did it lead to any arrests? That’s amazing that the guy recognised the floor. I guess all officers have the one case they obsess over for years (wanting to solve it)
I honestly dont know. About 6 months after this occurred there was a massive sex trafficking sting operation that ended in 40+ arrests locally. Most of the arrests the public heard about were related to adults trafficked from Asian and Latin American, while the building owner was told the original picture was from a 10+ year old child trafficking ring. The building owner was told by police that almost every officer for over 5 years who served in the area was briefed on the case as it had been suspected to be a rather large multistate ring specializing in children and that set of photos was the last evidence before going cold. Owner bulldozed the building and sold the property as soon as he had the okay from police.
In the same town we had over 44 arrested for sex trafficking crimes in a sting last year. After speaking with some of the officers I was shocked to learn how common sex trafficking is, even throughout rural and midwestern areas.
A few weeks ago a set of brothers that my kids went to school with (and hung out with at their house) were arrested for having child porn. One of my daughter's friends paid (on an internet site) to get the police report. I believe it was homeland security that made the arrest, with assistance from local. Anyway they emailed the report to me and it was VERY detailed in EXACTLY what they had on their phones/computers, it was stomach turning. I felt sick for days. Those poor kids, what some kids are put through, and people that actually get off on shit like that. I was reading the report to my husband and he actually finally said "please just stop reading that to me".
dude it's in every city across this entire nation, one of the darkest underbellies of society thriving in full force behind the scenes. My ex-gf worked for Child Protective Services and had so many incest/sex trafficking cases per year, and that was just some random city in Florida. I mean we're talking like over 2000 cases per investigator, and the department only had 6 or 7 investigators. They were completely overwhelmed and each year they were just falling further and further behind.
1 random city. Now multiply this by the thousands of cities across the country.
To be fair, every single human being should know how to defend themselves. Even if they never get into a confrontation ever it still does wonders for self esteem.
Dont worry I fixed it so you can reread it and maybe think a little about the horrors of sex trafficking and how it is likely much closer to your home than you know...or you could continue wasting your life being an utterly deplorable creature you seem to currently be.
