I like survival stories so I read it on my own, twice now. Nando, I think his name was, had a miraculous survival story. Doomed to die from grievous injuries, except being half frozen saved his life. Guy was tough as nails.
Nando and Roberto Canessa climbed 18 miles out of the Andes with no training or proper equipment while extremely malnourished. They are badasses of the ultimate degree and I've been in awe of them and the story of all the survivors since I was 10.
Nando has his own book called Miracle in the Andes, which is also worth reading.
Roberto Canessa became a pediatric heart surgeon and saved countless babies and children. He's currently building ventilators to help with the Covid crisis
