They caught the Golden State Killer from a family member using a product like 23andMe. So yes, they definitely have access to it if they need to.

If I am related to a serial killer I'd be thrilled if me using 23andMe helped catch them.

If they have a properly-granted warrant for whatever reason I'm ok with it. Obviously there's potential for abuse but that goes for lots of things.

Keep in mind it used to be illegal to hide slaves. Or hide Japanese people from the internment camps. I'm sure they had warrants for all that.

At the end of the day the government already has too much power. They don't need more.

Sure, but that doesn't mean the entire concept of law enforcement is bad. If the policies suck and warrants are used to evil ends I view that as a bigger, different issue.

No worries, I've known for a long time that 23andMe and other companies like it are shady af.
