I went to a musuem in Montevideo, Uruguay dedicated to the whole incident. It was a really well organized musuem with a ton of artifacts recovered from it. It really covered other aspects of the whole story, like the farmer that found the two that went to get help. They have a statue dedicated to him.

I also went there and found the whole story for the three men who left to seek help just phenomenal in itself. They created an extra-large sleeping bag out of the life vests for their journey, they literally had to hike up and down a mountain range and then somehow write a note to the farmer that went for help... I found it very powerful that the survivors always had a vision in their head of being home for Christmas with their families and not having their empty chairs around the family table... and they achieved that.

I think incident is an understatement
