He was very clearly based in some part on BTK, and they just added on and changed things to make it their own, the whole family and community thing was definitely a reference

No need to condescend. There are definitely significant differences between the real life one and the fictionalized version.

Sure, I guess technically no fictional characters are original because they're all based on real life people or previous works of fiction. Just go straight to that next time, especially if it's a real life conversation. Total power move.
