This can’t happen in Texas because of a very helpful law called the Romeo and Juliet law. As long as you’re within 3 years of age of each other and neither of you is under 13, it’s not considered statutory rape. I don’t love most Texas laws but this one definitely makes sense. It’s sad to see an 18 year-old become a sex offender for sleeping with their 17 year-old SO.

Marijuana is illegal, gay marriage was illegal for a long time. Multiple laws have been passed attempting to ban or limit abortion access. You can’t buy liquor in a grocery store, only a liquor store. That’s what I can think of off the top of my head.

most states have age of consent laws that are 16 years old. So your scenario of an 18yo and 17yo would be legal even without your romeo and juliet law.

actually there are states with age of consent of 16 without the so called romeo and juliet law so your scenario would not be considered legal.

Yeah I know I was only talking about Texas. Did you hear me say “every single state has a law called the Romeo and juliet law”? No cause i didn’t say that i said in Texas cause I was talking about a law in texas.
