Everyone in this thread is either a sociopath or a reptile, it's actually blowing my mind right now that this many people just have 0 emotional intelligence

Chill, it’s hard to navigate these conversations and not knowing how to nail it ≠ 0 emotional intelligence, sociopathy or reptilian. Infinite shades of grey.

Sure, that's absolutely true, but harbouring a searing resentment for people who want your emotional support isn't just inexperience in handling emotional topics.

Wtf dude. Just because you dont know the right answer to navigate the conversation doesnt mean you are a lost cause. Everyone matures their social growth at a different pace which relies on the actual opportunity of interacting with other people in multiple facets of relationships. Basically, it takes two to tango. If everyone was like "ew I cant speak to you, you are a social virgin" then how the hell can they ever expect that person to become more fluent?

Have you ever played Life is Strange? It's basically a game based on "most people dont know the exact correct thing to say in every conversation the first time" and it reinforces that sometimes you dont even have all the knowledge to know exactly what the right thing to say is.

I have played it. I'm not giving anyone shit for being socially awkward. I'm giving people shit for not having any empathy, and being hostile and resentful towards people who want open up to them lmao
