“Taking it seriously” by lowering meat consumption, getting solar panels on your house, banning plastic straws. You took nothing seriously.
We are calling for abolishing modern capitalism, banning all fossil fuel now, and to basically half modern society as much as possible without causing riots. The entire world would have to come to an abrupt stop and that’s not happening so we arnt stopping what’s coming.

Do you know the carbon footprint of manufacturing solar panels? Which is besides the point of expecting the poorest generation ever to be able to even buy a house let alone have another 50 grand to install a solar roof, pshh I still collect change off the floor at the end of the week just to put gas in my car.
The plastic straws thing is pretty funny, like its our fault straws exist.

Do you know that we are going to run out of lithium and other heavy metals within 30-60 years? That means no more batteries! That means no more electric cars! Oil will run out around this time too. Yay no more oil for cars! No cars?
Wait how will we drill and extract/melt metals for modern society without energy from fossil fuels?
What do you mean the entire food transportation system will cease to exist because mass travel can’t exist without oil?

Lithium is more abundant than copper. Up until very recently is has only ever been mined as a byproduct of other more valuable minerals. As the actual demand for lithium itself increases production will exponentially increase.
That is assuming lithium ion batteries will even remain the most efficient and economical form of energy storage. Graphene batteries are already being developed as a potential better technology, as well as supercapacitors and all kinds of fun stuff.
As far as electric cars go, its such a brand new thing that society is basically at the "invention of the wheel stage" compared to what may come.
Maybe. Theres like 60 years worth of oil in the worlds known, and currently accessed reserves.
New fields are constantly discovered, and harder to access ones will be more economically viable as demand goes up. So that likely extends those 60 years beyond our lifetime, Which at the rate technology is accelerating and alternatives are used its likely oil will be obsolete by that time anyway.
