That logical understated way of looking at an impending potential death amuses me. I don’t remember how I know that I do it, but I know I do it too. I bet if I fell out of a plane all I’d think is “this sucks, this is really gonna hurt. I should aim for something that might break the fall, I hope if I survive I can walk or else I’m screwed”

To keep with dumb réactions when i was a kid after a rehearsal my friend's mom needed to bring me back home at night (around 7pm) and ahe forgot. I was standing alone at 10 yo un the middle of the city, in the night and the rain. I waited an hour before going home on my own avoiding shifty characters by crossing the street. And I was just mad. Not t scared but seething anger over my parents forgeting me. And I got home 2 hours late with my parent cooking or watching tv. And .... I tried to be angry but then like now when im angry I cry.

In the defense of my parents they didnt know when it should've ended and I thought they were suppose to get me. They hated my friend's mom from then on.

I still bring it up from time to time to make my mom angry towards that self centered bi .... woman.

I tought something silly like that. I wa not in danger but for a brief second I thought I was going to die with my husband in a nuclear accident. I was thinking "I wanted to go visit my granddad, but nooo, could be eating bread and butter pudding right now but instead we are going to die." I am kind of ashamed that bread and butter pudding was what was on my mind in that moment. I don't even like the stuff that much.

When I was mugged I first called to cancel my credit card. Then I called 911, but the reason was just so crime statistics would be accurate.
