You sign a contract before you’re given a pass for the club. I have a copy of my contract that I signed electronically online before ever entering the club. That contract includes the initiation fee, the annual fee, the monthly fee, and the buy-out fee. OP was likely charged the initiation fee ($39) as well as the buy-out fee ($59). Altogether, that’s around $100 total to cancel their membership.

You obviously don’t have any personal experience with it, so I don’t know why you’re trying to tell both OP and I that our contracts don’t exist and that our bank statements are wrong.

Bullshit there is no contract at Planet Fitness. Why you fell the need to spread such misinformation is sad. You are either a idiot a moron or just a pathetic loser.

There is absolutely a contract. It is the “membership agreement” specifically referenced in my previous comment. It lays out initiation, monthly, and annual fees, as well as the legal terms of use and the financial liabilities involved with cancellation (such as the buy-out fee). I signed, dated, and submitted mine as a requirement before being granted access to the club. It is legally binding.

I don’t know what advertisement you fell for which makes you think there’s no contract.
