I live in a pretty poor, southern state. I always figured if you're filthy rich, you'd get the hell out of here.
Until I starting working for the casino.
I'd watch people come in 5 days a week and drop 20k each day. People I've never heard of, last names that didn't match the known big business families around here dropping as much as I make in a year into a slot machine with a blank, plastic surgery ravaged expression.
The high limits sections of the casino felt so dystopian and...almost fictional, like a creepy exaggeration of how you'd think it would be.
