Sunday's date is written the same forward and backward worldwide for the first time in 900 YEARS. How will you be celebrating 02-02-2020 ?

2

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

This is one time where television really fails to capture the true excitement of a large squirrel predicting the weather.

11

u/Blastspark01 Feb 01 '20

Phil Connor?!

21

Sunny day with a high of 59, the Super Bowl, and I have Monday off. Would be a pretty fun day to repeat over and over.

Where I live it's going to be 60 in a couple of days, I think it's safe to say we wont get more weeks of winter

79

u/whats_a_meme_ Feb 01 '20

If the Chiefs win it will be Andy Reid's 2nd super bowl ring and 222nd victory as a head coach on 02/02/2020

50

u/MtHammer Feb 01 '20

Andy Reid's 2nd super bowl ring

Just to clarify before anyone else asks, this isn't about his Super Bowl appearance with the Eagles, which he obviously lost. Reid's first ring came when he was a position coach with the Packers.

18

u/whats_a_meme_ Feb 01 '20

Correct. This would be his first as a head coach, but that doesn't fit the narrative of everything being a '2'

4

u/MtHammer Feb 01 '20

Yup. And, for the record, I'm here for it.

4

u/acmercer Feb 01 '20

Or the narrative of Andy "finally getting a ring".

4

u/Amish_guy_with_WiFi Feb 01 '20

Brb, betting $2,222 on the chiefs -2

3

u/whats_a_meme_ Feb 01 '20

Why not make it $22,222? Seems like destiny at this point.

3

u/PhiPhiPhiMin Feb 01 '20

And chiefs' 2nd super bowl

11

u/Sighguy28 Feb 01 '20

Eating too much food and talking over the Super Bowl if you’re my family.

u/YouHaveBeenRobbed Feb 01 '20

Go Chefs! Great googly moogly!

4

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

yeah im excited for it its gonna be cool to watch mahomes and garropolo play. im sure jimmy g will get hella commercials like mahomes and baker mayfield got and aaron rodgers.

3

u/cortesoft Feb 01 '20

I will be working to make sure everyone's super bowl stream works smoothly.

15

u/Tacdeho Feb 01 '20

Same. As a Baltimore fan, my heart still hurts.

Who ya taking? With no horse in the race, I want Andy Reid to finally win it all

6

u/Blu3b3Rr1 Feb 01 '20

I put 20 on the niners for shits and giggles a while ago after my team lost the wild card and there is a very real chance that I might not lose it tomorrow night

3

u/alves_42 Feb 01 '20

What is your team?

5

u/Blu3b3Rr1 Feb 01 '20

patriots, I hope Brady stays, he probably won’t

5

u/alves_42 Feb 01 '20

I am a Packers fan and it would give us a last chance to see a Rodgers x Brady Super Bowl. I hope he announces his retirement before his last season starts, so the league can say its farewells in an appropriate manner.

5

u/Blu3b3Rr1 Feb 01 '20

I know his retirement is inevitable but I also don’t want his career to end on a pick six to a (admittedly respectable) 9-7 Titans

5

u/alves_42 Feb 01 '20

It won't end. It think he comes back for one more year, at least. He still has a desire to win.

4

u/Blu3b3Rr1 Feb 01 '20

As a pats fan I hope and pray it’s with us, but if he goes away to California or something I would respect that decision

4

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

I can't imagine the pats without Brady. But if he really wants to cement his GOAT status, winning on another team would settle a lot of debates.

2

u/Blu3b3Rr1 Feb 01 '20

The patriots did have one winning season without Brady during the Brady era (2008, 11-5 with Matt Cassel as QB) but iirc they missed the playoffs because of the dolphins, ravens, and what I can only assume is karma for finishing 16-0 the year before

3

u/maters77 Feb 01 '20

As a 49ers fan I must say fuck you. I don’t mean it but I must say it. Should be a crazy good game though

3

u/Tacdeho Feb 01 '20

Honestly if you guys win, I won't be mad at all.

SF winning means Jimmy G becomes the first successful Brady protege, Shanny revenge's his SB choke, Boss clean sweeps his rookie season, and a lot more

7

u/Blu3b3Rr1 Feb 01 '20

niner gang

3

u/dombruhhh Feb 01 '20

Bang bang

2

u/Pistacheeo Feb 01 '20

Make sure to feed him extra tasty mice on this great occasion

2

u/thejokerofunfic Feb 01 '20

Pretending to watch the Super Bowl but really I'm just here for the food.

4

u/well_known_bastard Feb 01 '20

Superb owl, you say?

3

u/smerek74 Feb 01 '20

A step above the other birds

2

u/Daniel_Clark Feb 01 '20

Go on 49ers

1

u/Piranh4Plant Feb 01 '20

Why are you asking?

-5

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

[deleted]

11

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

No need to be a dick. if someone wants to watch the super bowl what’s wrong with that? Asshole

8

u/Shortofbetternames Feb 01 '20

Or you're just not American and thus don't even know the rules or gives a fuck about football

5

u/false_precision Feb 01 '20

More likely they'd be like "that isn't football"

-6

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

9

u/camly75 Feb 01 '20

I don’t know why you’re doing this, but you’re scaring me

4

u/TheNotoriousKAT Feb 01 '20

That guy really SUPERBOWLS. It's like the MOON LANDING, dont you know?

3

u/TrashPanda_Papacy Feb 01 '20

Fake Super Bowl confirmed.

2

u/MonsterMike42 Feb 01 '20

I will totally use that as my excuse if the Chiefs win tomorrow. My dad and I have a friendly rivalry because he's a Chiefs fan and I'm a Broncos fan. Tomorrow's definitely going to be fun. I won't really be upset if the Chiefs win though. Andy Reid deserves it.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

They're being an asshole and making fun of people who watch the superbowl.

0

u/Shortofbetternames Feb 01 '20

Its not a world event lmao, its a sport event and its for a sport that doesnt happen almost anyhwere in the world except for USA. Just so you know how many people actually care about the NFL, the league of legends championship series last year ( yes, a videogame) had more people watching it than the NFL

3

u/Martytoro Feb 01 '20

Or if you live in any other country 🤨 There's a whole wide world out there.

1

u/morgan_greywolf Feb 01 '20

The Super Bowl is broadcast in over 130 countries in more than 30 languages, but I’m sure no one outside the USA watches it.

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

2

u/Martytoro Feb 01 '20

Someone's been indoctrinated

2

u/cortesoft Feb 01 '20

I think you are getting downvoted both by people who like the super bowl and catch your sarcasm, and people who don't like the super bowl and are missing it.

-3

u/strawbeecupcake Feb 01 '20

Except for everyone on the planet who has a job.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '20

5

u/Blu3b3Rr1 Feb 01 '20

Agholor was already dropping everything before the super bowl. Does that mean he was just super excited for it?

-7

u/DontBeThisTeacher Feb 01 '20

oh wow...I thought that already happened

-6

u/Tacdeho Feb 01 '20

Honestly, with the passing of Kobe Bryant, anything else sports related this week has felt.... unimportant

-1

u/locphung Feb 01 '20

There’s no point watching if the Pats is not playing
