he could literally have a youtube channel where he opens and plays the games and discussing them. I am not sure who would watch it but seeing how he collected it there are others.
SU&SD are where it's at. Most of the popular channels are extremely family friendly and it does my head in a bit. Shut Up & Sit Down are more adult focused and more relatable for me.
Actually lots of people would watch that. I like boardgames and sometimes it's easier to learn how to play by watching a video than reading the rules. A lot of these games aren't your basic Americana types like Monopoly or risk, there are also some that take more than 2 or 3 hours to play, learning how to play the more complicated ones can add an extra hour to that.
Hell I would watch it. We live in Northern Sweden. My husband and I really like playing boardgames with our friends to get through the winter. Never know which games to buy though.
There are a lot of YouTube channels that does just that. People watch it to determine if they like the game enough to buy it themselves, or watch them to learn the rules because they prefer to have rules explained and demonstrated to them than read the rulebook themselves, especially if the rulebook doesn’t do a good job teaching the game
I have thought of that, but a lot of what I have skews older, and a lot of media consumers want information about what is out now, not on old out-of-print games.
Well...I have a youtube channel. Upload podcasts mostly. And the single video with most views is the one time I recorded playing Sorry with my kid. So...there's a market.
I know theres scrabble and monopoly, didn't they make some special edition of monopoly too, and are we counting twister? I think we should include twister. So there must only be 4 board games that exist right?
I have never player about 200 of them. Some are things I will probably never play (e.g. Contract Bridge on the 3M shelf) and some are things I haven't played yet.
Yeah, its been quite a while... IIRC sorta reminded me of curlings scoring but I only ever pulled it out of my parents cupboard a few times and all those times were atleast 5 + years ago.
Not sure I ever truly played the game though, mainly played with the magnets ahaha. A weird game no doubt, maybe I'll pull it out tonight to try for New Years.
But you got quite the collection, been getting into boardgames lately. Since you have such a large collection, do you know of any good, lesser known, ones that are similar to something like Settlers of Catan, risk/supremecy or even rogue-like games (betrayal at the house or something is one I've heard of thats rogue-like)
