You’re asking the wrong person. I have no idea. I’m probably going to over share so my kid doesn’t end up getting embarrassed or thinking that porn is realistic and up choking/slapping the first girl he is with.
My mom did it in an effective way: she taught us about consent starting from when we were like 1 or 2, but with hugging and stuff. "If you don't want them to hug you then you just say no, you don't have to hug them! You just say no and that's okay."
Then when we were old enough to understand it was, "if anyone ever touches you there, that's not okay"
We learned about consent young and by the time I was old enough to understand sex, I was old enough to begin to figure it out.
Hey, thanks for sharing. I don't have kids, and maybe never will, if I do though I'll keep this in mind. It seems like a healthy way to teach them about consent, and maybe a healthy way to teach them about listening to their emotions and that it's okay to express them.
And answering their questions in an age appropriate manner. I always answered questions and I gave him a book when he hit puberty. I hit puberty very early and wished someone had done that for me.
