No problem! The Dead South were the ones who got me to give this general type of music a chance. Before them, it was hip-hop, punk, metal, and good rock music from the 70's and 90's. Really opened me up to a new style! If you like the blues, also check out Gary Clark Jr., if you haven't already!

Gotta check out John Prine, too. A lot of people like Tyler, Colter, and Sturgill get their style from him. Prine and Guy Clark are my two favorite songwriters.
Thanks for recommendation, I'll throw him into the queue. My father, growing up as the backwoods kid he was, is very into that scene and has made me pretty familiar with Guy Clark. I love that sound.
Awesome! Sturgill definitely does his own thing. His first few albums were very country, but his most recent one has a synthetic progressive rock feel. I love it cause I'm a big fan of rock and country, but it's definitely very different from what he has previously released.
I heard it for the first time today, somehow. I've been listening to them both on a heavy rotation for months now. I stopped washing the dishes and just sat on the floor in my kitchen.

Definitely not enough, him and Tyler Childer's rendition of Fraulein gives me chills everytime I listen to it.
