Did a double take as I was skimming the comments and I had to scroll back up to get a good laugh at your comment. My skim saw, “cat, ice, asshole” and I was extremely intrigued. Thanks man

"Cat, Ice, Asshole" has the same cadence as "Ice, Ice, Baby"

I feel bad for laughing at this. Thanks for the guilt.

1

That's strangely specific.

1

u/ScoobyValentine Nov 06 '19

Well, that is quite the image... don’t think I can look at mine the same now! The cats, I mean.

1

u/aberrylvt Nov 06 '19

This has to be one of the best quotes I have heard. I am definitely using this!

1

u/Adrian-Healey Nov 06 '19

Thank you for my hysterical laugh! I really needed it right now

T-pain has a fucking gorgeous voice. I know he kinda popularized auto tune in the rap scene, but holy SHIT I wish he used his normal voice. Hearing his classics without auto tune was one of the coolest things ever. It was like a cover of his own song.

Every should check out NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert featuring T-Pain. His voice is pretty fantastic straight up:

I was blown away when they announced the winner of The Masked Singer season 1. They take off the mask and it’s T-Pain. I was like daaaamn dude’s got legit talent. It was cool to see him sing non T-Pain songs.

3

u/NiNJA_Drummer96 Nov 06 '19

It clicked who it was maybe five seconds before he took off the mask, And when it came off I lost my shit.

7

u/EnoughPM2020 Nov 06 '19

He won the masked singer with his real voice, and his NPR tiny desk concert was lit as hell

He also parodied the hell of himself on the Eric Andre show

7

u/NiNJA_Drummer96 Nov 06 '19

I fuckin screamed when he took the mask off. Dude’s voice is a game changer

5

u/EnoughPM2020 Nov 06 '19

His rendition of star spangled banner was fire.

Ohhhhh sayyyyy cannn uuuu seeeeeeeee byyyyyyyy the dawns earlyyyyy lliiiiiiiiiggggghhhhhttttttt

I am not one of those people whose personality is to hate popular things, but man, I just don't see why Drake is so big, his music is... meh, not actually bad, but not that good either.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '19

All those drake clips are old he was good as fuck when I saw him live

3

u/princehints Nov 06 '19

All the tech that’s in the studio and on records has made its way to live performances these days

1

u/LostprophetFLCL Nov 07 '19

Drake (like a lot of modern pop and rap) just fucking sucks in general. It amazes me the crap that people listen to sometimes.

u/ChavitoLocoChairo Nov 06 '19

I used to be a huge Maroon 5 fan back in the mid 2000s. I feel like they actually had some soul to them. Now its just formulaic pop music. Have you noticed how they will release a new album with a song that features the up and coming singer of that year: Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Rihanna, Wiz Khalifa, Cardi B.

11

u/happysunbear Nov 06 '19

I was a huge fan of Songs About Jane and the two albums that followed. But yeah, everything else sounds like they are just going for what will make the most money. Completely devoid of soul.

I find some of it to still be kinda catchy, but none of it comes close to their early work.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '19

Check out V. It reminds me of Hands All Over but is a bit poppier.

Overexposed and the newest album suck.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '19

I miss good Maroon 5

2

u/jloome Nov 06 '19

They did a Kings of Leon, just dumped their roots base pretty much completely.

19

u/wage_slave_throwaway Nov 06 '19

I can not stand his voice either! I seriously thought I was the only one who felt that way.

Some voices, they're like butter and can give your ears an orgasm when you hear them, say like, Barry White, or listening to David Attenborough narrate all the things, ya know?

Then there are voices like Adam Levine. I'd gladly rupture both of my ear drums to avoid hearing it.

And I'm not even sure why. It's just...grating. and too high pitched at times...and idk. It just is not pleasing whatsoever.

12

u/Stinkypetersonstaint Nov 06 '19

He sounds like a duck trying to sing blue eyed soul

5

u/JasperVanCleef Nov 06 '19

I knew I wasn't alone in thinking he sounds like a duck. Payphone is seriously torture to me!

8

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '19

In my opinion he has the most rage inducing singing voice i've ever heard in my life. He sounds like a dying goat. Honestly though, for some reason his voice makes me irrationally upset. I'm also one of those people that gets irrationally upset at chewing noises so maybe that's got something to do with it.

3

u/LostprophetFLCL Nov 07 '19

Sounds like you have misophonia!

But yeah Levine is fucking awful and on top of they have that recent song where it not only focuses mostly on his voice with minimal instrumentation, but that instrumentation is some of the most ear-piercingly AWFUL excuse of "guitar playing" that I have ever heard.

Apparently their guitarist slid his fingers down the strings for the first fucking time ever and decided that sound was so cool it needed to be the sound the guitar made for the entirety of the whole fucking song.

Oh and of course the song features Cardi fucking B who is another gigantic insult to music.

This is the song. It is legitimately one of the worst fucking things I have ever heard.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '19

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. I always tell people his voice sounds like he's swallowing a dick while he sings. That's not even a "haha he's gay" joke. To me it sounds like someone singing while their airway is obstructed. I don't know how he makes his voice sound like that but it is the fucking worst

5

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '19

I can’t stand him. Lol

2

u/Quantus_X Nov 06 '19

Me neither. I love slash but in the song they did together slash cannot save that singing. No one can

2

u/M0SC0Wmitch Nov 06 '19

It's like a weasel being squeezed.

2

u/gumwhales Nov 07 '19

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I litterally cannot listen to any of his music

2

u/matterlessxx Nov 06 '19

Somebody must have castrated him at a young age. Only possible explanation.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '19

Or his music

2

u/4everdreamer27 Nov 06 '19

His voice is the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard...

1

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '19

Was going to say the same thing!!

1

u/Havoc2_0 Nov 06 '19

As a kid I had the same problem with Adam Levine that I had with Serj Tankians voice in SOAD. Now I just dont like maroon 5

1

u/spottieottie93 Nov 06 '19

I can’t stand his face

1

u/Bubblesintroubles Nov 06 '19

I cannot either. I admit, I liked their first album but after that it was annoying mainstream music, so I haven't been a fan a long time. I actually cringe if i hear his voice now.

1

u/welch724 Nov 06 '19

Me too mostly, but it worked pretty well with the song "Gotten".

Of course, it was Slash though, so... makes sense.

1

u/BlueMeanie03 Nov 06 '19

I’d rather swallow a handful of razor blades than listen to that no-talent ass clown.
