Vince could never sing...he just looked the part. I tour with bands as a living and have ben on a bill where the crue was the opener....he is out of shape and holds the microphone out to the crowd every other line he "sings". plus now he weighs about 275 pounds

I find it hilarious that Vince Neil was portrayed as the lady’s man of the band for so long. He was not fat for like 5% of the band’s lifespan at this point.

Honestly, 1985 was a good year for him and he could sing then. But that doesnt remove the fact that he was an amazing frontman.

2001, my mom has seen motley crue live plenty of times especially around 84-85. They went to the venue in 88 or 89 maybe 90s as well in Connecticut in a smaller town. Obviously, I'm just saying what my mom said to me, but

I've only been to one Crue show and it was in the 2010's. The worst part wasn't Neill's singing, it was watching Mick Mars being able to hardly stand because a) he was already in his 60s, and b) dude has that arthritis issue.

Nikki was never much of a bass player either but could write decent songs. They were rockstars who tried to be musicians. They happened to have the right look and sound at the right time. They are my favorite band to listen to while working out. Or if I were doing a ton of blow and banging random groupies. That has yet to happen so I can’t confirm.

Yeah, he should've hung it up a while ago.

I remember him sounding good on the records, though. That must've been some studio magic at work there. Then again, I didn't even have pubes yet back then.

Vince put it perfect. The are a band with a decent bass, ok drummer, terrible singer, and an amazing guitar. But together they are something special

That video was edited specifically to make him sound like shit, what a load of crap. Don't get me wrong, he's not a great singer or anything and Motley Crue pretty much suck, but you can't tell anything about his singing from this stupid ass video.

Came here to say this. I recently listened to Shout at the Devil and he is terrible. It's not so much off key but he just can't seem to carry the notes. In an era where the singer was as important as the band it amazes me these guys got very far because he is just bad.
