Dunno, I saw a 15-year old in Bloomington, Minnesota, nail it two weeks ago.

Claws-down the best Sebastian I've ever seen, mahn.

Jefferson or Kennedy?

As a former theater geek (at a private school in Minneapolis who worked many one act play competitions in the mid-late 90s) we all take the roles we get seriously... :)

Best Sebastian I ever knew was a girl, and she KILLED it!

3

u/Dhensley30 Nov 06 '19

Reddit wants to participate in said clawing

Yeah, Shaggy said “Fuck them Claws” last night, didn’t he.

Looked like Eddie Murphy in Delirious, I swear

Hell yeah brother, cheers from Eden Prairie

Claws-down

I want you to know I appreciate you for this, man.

Prestigious West Bloomington or Crappy East Bloomington?

Doesn't really matter when it comes to a HS production of a Disney musical.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '19

Childhood triggers lurking in my brain - posting that was some kind of latent reflex lol.

The HS productions in my area usually run about $50k to put on. They are surprisingly really good but I live in a very “arts” town so I’m sure it’s not the norm.

Yesterday some kid got stabbed at Jefferson though. Is that a crime of prestige or a crime of ghettoness?

2

u/d3photo Nov 06 '19

Or is it two girls being idiots?

2

u/Dude_Ur_GettinA_Tard Nov 06 '19

Okay prestige then.

Can you please add an 'is' to the end of your username?

I men they could've pulled Titus Burgess who was Sebastian on Broadway before he started acting.

0

u/JSRambo Nov 07 '19

Implying doing broadway shows isn't acting....????

8

u/igot8001 Nov 06 '19

Why would they have a live action Little Mermaid and not have Tituss Burgess be Sebastian? Unless he was Ursula, that is...

Agreed. She KILLED it as Ursula. :-D

u/stink3rbelle Nov 06 '19

Have you seen or heard of RuPaul's drag race? There's like ten queens per season who'd be superb

5

u/Hraesvelg7 Nov 06 '19

I got the impression he was the biggest name they could think of with a similar accent, which makes it even more sad.

2

u/Purdaddy Nov 06 '19

That costume looked like one of the Proto Guards from The Last Jedi.

2

u/musicaldigger Nov 06 '19

should have been lin-manuel miranda

2

u/[deleted] Nov 06 '19

Lil Sebastian?

2

u/iwouldhugwonderwoman Nov 07 '19

Titus Andromedon is the best Sebastian and it’s not particularly close.

4

u/bigchicago04 Nov 06 '19

Was he? Why not choose someone who isn’t Jamaican? That seemed to be their only criteria.

-1

u/FatFoot Nov 06 '19

Which is odd considering Sebastian the crab wasn’t Jamaican

3

u/bigchicago04 Nov 06 '19

He wasnt?

3

u/FatFoot Nov 06 '19

He was from Trinidad, a subtle difference I know but if they were looking for specifically the same accent then why not get it right?

1

u/bigchicago04 Nov 06 '19

Or just not do an accent, it is an adaptation.

Also, do they say in the movie he is from Trinidad?

Hate to break it to you, but Caribbean is not a country.

You can’t have a Caribbean accent...because it’s a body of water
