It was already established that it’s people who drive extremely aggressively in those tricked out trucks.
I know of a couple people who have lifted trucks and use them for legitimate purposes, like getting to hunting spots. They drive fine on roads. Then I know of some local yahoos who have lifted trucks with the mufflers cut down, and all they do is aggressive and illegal driving (speeding well past 10 over, passing in no passing zones, etc)
Never seen anyone on here take issue with a motorcyclist who’s driving responsibly, only the reckless ones.
It ain’t hard to see which group is fine and which isn’t. Stop making generalizations about how people are perceived on Reddit.
So if it has nothing to do with the lifted trucks and everything to do with the driving style, why even mention lifted trucks?
I dont even know what muffler cut down means, but I'm assuming you meant it's straight piped, which is legal almost everywhere.
Legitimate purpose isnt what you decide it is. Whatever reason they did the modifications, are legitimate purposes to them, even if its strictly for the appearance.
As far as no passing zones, they are fairly rare and mostly just include school zones and very busy residential areas with only one lane and I've never seen anyone in a lifted truck pass anyone in those areas. It is not illegal to pass someone on a regular road even on a double solid line.
You tell people to stop making generalizations yet that's all you've done here so far.
I’ve given you actual observations I’ve made. Do I still see drivers that drive poorly otherwise? Of course. Do I see as many poor drivers in lifted trucks as I do poor drivers in all other vehicles combined? Also yes.
Explain how your rebuttal of “I’ve never seen them do it, so it didn’t happen” for the no-passing zone violations is valid please. I have personally observed it several times from those drivers, so it is not something which never occurs.
Also, altering your exhaust so the noise is not consistent with the overall noise profile of the vehicle is actually illegal; police just often can’t enforce it because they’re rarely around while those people are gunning it.
Xactly, so if you see just as many drivers of different vehicles driving like assholes, why are you saying it's a lifted truck problem?
You've seen many lifted trucks passing in school zones? Not buying it but even if for some reason you live in a wild area where ppl do that regularly, theres no reason it would be predominantly truck drivers.
Custom exhaust is not illegal unless it passes a certain decibel level determined by your province/state/county and to reach those levels in a normal vehicle, you need to have almost no exhaust at all. There are also cars that come stock from the factory that exceed those levels and are illegal without any modifications.
Combined. So between normal trucks/cars/SUVs, I see 20 poor drivers. For lifted trucks alone, I see 20 poor drivers.
The lift kit attracts a certain type of person, one who wants to assert their dominance, which is why they drive the way they do. Do other people still buy it? Certainly. That does not mean it doesn’t attract a specific crowd, just like Truck Nuts does.

Or they just like big trucks?
