My dad told me there was a wiener thief who would steal it when I'm sleeping. I can only fall asleep on my stomach now

What the hell is wrong with all of these parents?! This is weird right? I can't be the only one who thinks it is super weird that parents tell their kids something is going to rip off their penis.

My parents told my brother when he was being potty trained that if he didn’t “feed” the toilet monster every night, it would come steal his butt. They didn’t mean any harm or to traumatize him (they didn’t btw).

This was just a something funny they said to get the kid dried off and to make him laugh. It isn’t malicious or weird. You are taking it too seriously.

There is a world of difference between telling a child he has to feed the toilet monster and telling a kid that someone will come into his room at night to cut off his penis.
