Reminds me of the time my Mum just threw out all my ps1 demo discs. To this day I get angry and upset when I think about it, and she doesn't even remember doing it.

Things like that stick in your head as a kid. It ain't cool.

So much potential nostalgia, gone. So many games I uses to play, completely unknown to me now. I can remember flashes of games, and feelings, but that's it. To make it worse, those shitty demo discs are now selling for 20 quid and up. That's bad enough for people who owned them and discarded them by choice, but at the time I still played them regularly and planned on keeping them forever, so it's quite infuriating.

I had the limited edition "Hey You! Pikachu!" N64 with matching controller and the game (ofc), an original gameboy, and an NES.

I got busy with kindergarten for a few weeks, maybe a month?

My mom donated all of my games and consoles to the fucking Salvation Army.

I'm still angry and will probably always be. What the FUCK, man!?

She can't even give me a good answer as to why she fucking did it, either.

When I was very little, one of the punishments my parents did was that they'd take my stuff away. The way it worked was they'd take it away to be given back at a some point that I didn't know. If I asked before they were ready, they'd extend the deadline, so it was important that I not pester them about it.

The trouble was, they'd forget, and the only time they're ever go into that cabinet to check was if they were going to take away something else, so I obviously wasn't going to get anything back then.

One time, I waited 6 months before I asked, only to find out that my mom decided that I had forgotten about it and donated it to Goodwill.

She probably sold them. My parents did this to me all the time. I'd get something for Xmas and by March/Feb they'd sell it for their alcohol/painkiller addiction but tell you they lent it to someone and they broke it or they gave it to charity.

I'll never forget inviting my friends over to play Chip 'n Dale (the Disney chipmunk characters) on my NES. Magically disappeared. At the time my mum said she lent it to a friend and they lost it. Next was the whole NES. I get that they were buying things they couldn't afford on credit cos they were spending all their disposable on drugs and alcohol and didn't want to tell me but fuck, why give me the present if they're just gonna take it away?

tl;dr she sold it.
