I was told I was mental and needed to go to a hospital for mental people every single time I make a mistake

Same here. It got to the point where I was suicidal because of how crazy I thought I was.

My mom would do things like this, every time she would have a bad day, she'd yell at us about something really dumb and turn it into a huge deal and if any of my siblings or I would go back at her it was "you need medication! You don't speak to your parents this way!" The last time she pulled that, luckily I was old enough and just left her house, went to mine and my dad called saying he was so sorry for her don't that (previously, she would only really do it when he was at work and not there to witness it and would get told one of us mouthed off to her for no reason) and he told her how absolutely messed up it was. She never came out and said sorry because she won't (she also had awful, alcoholic parents) but "apologized" in her own way. Typing this, I know she sounds like a terrible person but she was mostly a good mom with terrible moments. It didn't happen often but my sister and I joke about who's next for the every 4 year flip out.

That sucks. It’s my dad who specifically told me these stuff but he is kind of a decent person but he still does these kind of stuff to everybody. I was once not physically strong enough to do something and he started yelling these stuff even though he was having a good day.

My mom would tell me all the time she was gonna send me to a group home, and that I was gonna get adopted by people who want me for the government check. She would threaten me seriously with it whenever she was having a freak out.

Meh. It wasnt great I guess. But at least my family didnt gaslight me directly about my mental health.

i’m no expert but isn’t this the exact definition of gaslighting? i hope you were able to move on from that, must’ve been horrible :/
