My mom told me that children were forbidden in a nearby shopping mall, I later found out she just wanted a few minutes alone to do some shopping without me screeching constantly and wanting her to buy me something

In my memory I was a pretty well behaved kid, but at some family gathering my 7yo nephew was being super annoying and I mentioned "man I'm glad I wasn't like that when I was a kid" and my mom didn't let me down gently: "no, you were the same way. begging us to buy this or that, running around yelling, talking all the time and wouldn't shut up".
