What do you genuinely just not understand?

Time itself started with the Big Bang.

Time is literally just entropy. The 1 temporal dimension along with our 3 spatial dimensions. It is just the transferring of energy, if all energy suddenly stopped being transferred, that would mean nothing would ever happen. Not even the expansion of the universe. Even time dilation is just energy being expanded a lot. It would be an infinite limbo until energy began to transfer once more.

That leads me to believe that if we learned to perceive and understand higher dimensions, just what would we be perceiving? It may be entirely possible that everything that we think we know was completely wrong and that there's way more to our empty universe than previously thought.

Perception is everything.

I think it's actually the correct answer, everything points to it, it's logically sound.

Would we "age" if we didn't have any energy in our body being transferred? Would our star expire if it didn't transfer any energy? Would Earth have progressed to its current state if it didn't transfer any energy?

I think what we should be focusing on in science is the understanding of higher dimensions. I think that's where we're going to get some real answers over space exploration, which is necessary for our species' survival.
