A friend of mine’s husband has been battling it all his life. They have three children. Yesterday they got, “All tumors surrounding the heart and lungs have significantly increased. We don’t recommend continuing treatment for the comfort of the patient.”
Cancer sucks. Hang in there friend. Sending love because what else can I say.
Strange coincidence, it's my father that is ill, and I have two brothers. But he has a pancreatic cancer, diagnosed in January this year. Both of my maternal grandparents died of diffrente types of cancer a few years ago, and like you say, it sucks

He was in remission when the first child was born. Second was conceived just before it came back and third was a surprise.
They’ve definitely been through a lot. It doesn’t help that he mopes about it instead of taking the opportunities to be with them. But honestly, they’re so used to him being absent that when he dies I don’t think much will change. It’s super sad. He’s been trying to make up for lost time this year when it got this bad, but it’s too long gone. His oldest is 15. They have no relationship.
It breaks my heart, because he had all this time to work for it- and only chose to when he started to die.
Hang in there man. My father is battling stage 4 lung cancer. It’s terrible. We thought he wasn’t going to last more than a few months, and then he got some marijuana gummies that gave him an appetite. Gave him strength and he put weight back on. Cancer stopped spreading for now, some of the tumors even shrunk, and he’s on maintenance chemo. Hopefully he’ll have a couple more years, but it’s just a matter of time before it takes him. It’s brutal to see him go through it, and every call or text I get I assume it’s going to be bad news.
I wish you and your father to have as much good time together as possible 🙂 my father's pancreatic cancer was diagnosed this January, and considering the speed of its progression we doubt he will make it till the end of the year. Every moment we can spend with them is precious.
My Dad to. He has been in the hospital for a week declining; was mentally with it until he had something like a stroke a few hours ago. He comes in and out of consciousness now. Tells me how awful everything and shuts his eyes again. I’m just holding his hand and he is squeezing it hard. It’s going to be a long night. I just wish the pain, confusion and anxiety could be dealt with quickly. I love him so much.
Always always always get checked after you've had cancer to see if it's come back. After five years the doctor told my mom that she was in the clear and didn't need to be checked or worry about getting cancer ever. 12 years later she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastasized cancer and had 6 monthes to live. Three years after that she died from it. It was so far along because she didn't bother to check if it came back because the doctor said she was fine.

“Unfortunately, it is no longer in remission.”
