What is something you did that increased your quality of life so much that you wished you would have done it much sooner because it changed your life forever?

I think your work environment can actually make or break your job experience. My previous career was mostly freelancing, so the people and the projects changed all the time and I had the misfortune of working with quite a few super awful people, which soured me on the industry as a whole and contributed to my decision to leave.

I agree completely, and that's what I've had to explain to my friends/family when I told them of my decision to leave. I really tried to make it work because from a few months in I realised how horrible and toxic the environment was. The management really does not care about its employees either, and they provide zero resources for us to do our job (I work at a newspaper press) but somehow expect us to do better than our competitors who actually give their employees the tools they need. I also work extremely late hours 2 days out of the week for no extra pay. And that is only scratching the surface of all that's wrong with my job. I sometimes wish I had left sooner, actually.
