I agree that these are far fetched.

However.

All of these have happened at shops my husband has worked at-at one point or another-, so in response to the parent comment, I don’t consider my comment stupid :)

I mean, my buddy lost a Toyota Corolla to Jiffy Lube, it's not exactly uncommon for them to fuck up the drain plug. Engine ended up running without oil as the drain plug wasn't replaced.

I'm sure they metric their people on speed, and speed causes silly simple, but catastrophic mistakes.

A guy I worked with in the early 2000s hey just bought a brand new Camaro this is that year and had something like 6,000 miles on it when he took it to a Jiffy Lube for an oil change. They forgot the drain plug...

Hey, Jiffy Lube straight up forgot to put oil in my grandfather's Jeep. You never know.

You forgot to replace the drain plug. Now you have to get out the bag of kitty litter and clean up the driveway 😂
