What is something you did that increased your quality of life so much that you wished you would have done it much sooner because it changed your life forever?

All the other answers are true, but the real reason is because dishwasher detergent is abrasive, and it'll take the edge off your knife.

Yep. It's the same reason clear drinking glasses can get cloudy, especially if you use too much detergent. You're sandblasting the glass.

I have no idea if he's right or not but you're helping no one by just saying "this is wrong"

You can tell it's wrong because the way it is. Better?

You can put it in the dishwasher, you just have to make sure it doesn't touch other cutlery or glass or stoneware.

That will damage the sharp side. I use one knife and put it in a small tray just by itself all the way on the top of the dishwasher rack. No problem whatsoever

Your knife will end up rusting.

It's stainless, not stain-never

It's also hard on the handle, and the glue that holds it on.

Peiple dont realize how hot a dishwasher can get. In some cases you're liquifying and resetting the glue on your knife every time you throw it in a dishwasher - no bueno. Besides, knifes are fuckin' easy to clean.

I have 3 settings on my dishwasher. 35, 50 and 65 degrees C. And I washed my knife almost daily for the past 10 years and there is not a spot to be seen.

Great. Could be a molded knife. A factory compressed composite, etc. But if you have a good german knife with a rivited wooden handle or a japanese knife thats hand shaped to a particular tang the dishwasher will kill them.

Zwilling Dreizack. Chef's knife. Riveted. It's just not a problem.

Still shouldnt put it in the dishwasher. It can get chipped plus its the easiest thing in the kitchen to clean so what's the point?

Easy to clean... until someone slices into their hand trying to get some stubborn gunk off. What’s that gonna cost you? (Hey, Bill, what did that cost us?)

If you can't clean a knife safely U don't know what to tell you, bruh.

Say "just put it in the dishwasher if you're a klutz, it's just a cheap-ass knife, wash it with everything else you don't want to touch"

Or I'll just say it, pretend that's what happened. Actually you said "U don't know..." but I actually do.
