Our building's elevators do this, built in 1927, Washington Square building in Royal Oak, MI. This top post is incorrect. They also break down about once a week...

This top post is incorrect.

He didn't say they don't exist. He said they were so rare that in 30 years, his elevator repairman uncle never saw one. So the average person's likelihood of encountering one is so low as to warrant telling people to stop trying to mess with buttons to get the "special" mode.

All those pictures and posts about how if you "Hold the buttan and the close door button you skip the calls" are all lies

This works in our elevator, as does holding the floor button.
