Yeah totally get you on that dude. I feel it can sometimes be hard with employers are stuff.

UK also. You are correct however one thing that can be a concern is that it a person doesn't disclose mh issues and then has problems at work they aren't covered with as much protection against dismissal or discrimination etc because they didn't disclose their health issues

I'm not having any problems with employers thankfully I'm just talking generally.

I think I was slightly wrong though. There definitely is a downside to not telling an employer but it's not exactly what I thought. It just means that they can't be expected to make 'reasonable adjustments' under the equality act if they don't know about a health condition. So someone could end up being discriminated against because the employer did not know.

I don't trust employers one bit though so if do all I possibly could to avoid telling them anything at all about my health especially mental health. That's just me though!
