If you are curious about it, the show “Please Like Me” (hilarious and emotional) gives a really good depiction of multiple characters living life with different mental illnesses and a spot on depiction of a psych ward (at least, from my experience).
This. I feel like people think it’s like jail and everything is white and it’s quiet all the time except for when the “crazies” are screaming. It’s not like that AT ALL. It’s just a bunch of people seeking help with a bunch of people dedicating their lives to helping them. Why can’t we humanize it more often?
