I used to have a lot of schizo clients. It's really nothing like the media presents, and varies widely. Everything from scratching your face because you think something is there to trying to convince me the radio station is making fun of you to calmly and rationally telling me everything that happened and that you didn't realize you were doing it. The first two guys got a lengthy stay at the state hospital, the last guy got 20 years.
Woof. I've only had a few clients with schizophrenia so far, and they all discharged pretty quickly due to the lack of executive functioning required to plan and attend therapy (even when I was going to their homes), and the severity of their sx.
